Phase 3 of Honkai: Star Rail’s version 3.8 features a full roster of rerun characters for players to pull. The majority of these units have been around in the game for a while, but some players don’t have all the reruns currently available. Now is the perfect time to get them but they also needed to be Ascended. How do you do that? 📖 How Does Ascension Work?

Ascension Materials can be used to Ascend your units in your roster. Ascension upgrades your unit’s base stats, which vary depending on the character’s kit and their role in your teams. For example, a Main DPS character is more likely to have their Attack stat increased through Ascension more compared to Defense or Movement Speed. Depending on the rarity of your unit, their path type, and their Element, that will determine what Ascension Materials they need to Ascend to each level. However, a lot of characters share similar Materials which will require you to organize and manage them between each carefully. Try to focus on Ascending the characters that you plan to use most often, especially with your most useful teams.

⚜️ Aglaea’s Ascension Materials

Aglaea has her base stats with a shockingly high Movement Speed compared to other units. She’s currently the featured rerun characters in the Wish Banners and is one of the most popular. Many players are trying to wish for her this time around and for good reason. As a Sub-DPS, her insane Speed stat and improved Attack stat after Ascending works in perfect harmony for buffing and fighting.

🕊️ Sunday’s Ascension Materials

Sunday is another Support character that follows the Harmony Path, which will be a common occurrence with this Phase’s Wish Banners. Sunday’s base stats also have a high Movement Speed likely to help synergize with Aglaea’s. However, his Health stat improves a lot more through Ascension to help him stay alive to continuing giving buffs.

🦊 Tingyun’s Ascension Materials

Tingyun is an interesting case, as there’s technically two different versions of her. There’s the newest Fugue version where we find out in the Honkai: Star Rail story that Tingyun is still alive. However, the original Tingyun is now rerunning despite no longer existing story-wise. Despite being a 4-star unit, she’s one of the best Supports for beginner and even Veteran players with her incredible Speed and how that translates into team buffs.

🦴 Yukong’s Ascension Materials

Yukong is another featured Support character in these Wish Banners among the many other Supports. When compared to others like Tingyun or Aglaea, Yukong is definitely much weaker potential-wise. However, she can still work considerably well in a few team synergies. Through Ascension, while her Health stats aren’t the greatest, her Attack stat improves a whole lot more compared to the other 4-star units here.

Dan Heng’s Ascension Materials

Dan Heng is in a similar stuck position just like Yukong. He’s a much weaker Support compared to other choices like Tingyun, but he has something that can make up for this. For one, unlike Yukong, he actually is a great Main DPS synergy with Tingyun. By pulling for both these units, Ascending them, and pairing them together in a team, you have a pretty strong comp right there!
